Hilltop Elementary Tree Mural

A score made from the voices of more than 500 students for Liz Tran’s 24-foot mural at Hilltop Elementary.

Every Hilltop student helped paint the mural, and every student entered the music. Memory is a Game interviewed them about trees and belonging, then composed with their answers and the incidental sounds around them—the room noise, the pauses, the moment before a thought becomes a sentence.
