Privacy
What we collect, why, and what happens to it.

This page explains what information The Balance King collects through this website, why we collect it, and what happens to it.
The short version
We do not run ads. Website analytics stays off unless you allow it. If you do, we use Umami to understand where visits come from and how people use the site. Contact details you choose to send us stay separate from analytics.
What we collect
If you submit the contact form, we receive your name, email address, inquiry type and message. For a project inquiry, we also receive the project type and any company, budget or timeline details you provide. For an education inquiry, we receive your organization or school, role, program interest and rough timeframe.
The shorter form on the Services page collects your name, email address, and message.
Along with your entry, our system records the date and time you sent it, which page you sent it from, and your browser's user-agent string. A user-agent string is a short line of text your browser sends to every site it visits. It names your browser and operating system. It does not name you.
Our form system uses a one-way transformation of your IP address to limit spam. We keep that result for spam prevention and do not join it to analytics records.
Analytics choices
If you allow analytics, we send Umami selected page views and actions, such as opening work, starting media, following links and submitting an inquiry accepted by our form service. The inquiry count contains no form details and does not confirm email delivery. We also send selected referring website domains, without their page paths or query details.
Umami receives your network IP address and browser information. It uses these to estimate location, describe browser and device types, and group activity using a site-specific identifier. Stored records can show activity histories as well as totals. We do not send your name, email address or message to Umami, or connect your inquiry to those histories.
Umami's basic plan provides six months of analytics history. That period does not specify when every operational log or backup is deleted. We do not record visitor sessions for playback.
Allow analytics or keep it off. Your choice is saved in this browser. You can change it here at any time. Turning it off does not delete records already sent.
Analytics off
What we do not do
- No tracking cookies from us. Work temporarily saves your selected filter and return position in this browser. Your analytics choice is also saved in this browser.
- No tracking pixels or ad trackers. There are none anywhere on this site.
- Fonts are served by this site. Embedded video providers may load their own code, as described below. Umami's analytics script loads only after you allow analytics and your browser privacy settings permit it.
- No selling or renting your information. We do not, and we do not share it for marketing.
- No mailing list sign-up. Sending us a form does not add you to any list.
Where your form goes
Form submissions are sent to a private database we run on Supabase, a hosting service we use for this purpose. That database is locked down: nothing on the public internet can read from it, and only our own secured intake endpoint can write to it. The information lands there so we can read it and reply.
Emailing us instead
The contact page also offers buttons that open a pre-filled message in Gmail, Outlook, or your device's mail app. Nothing is sent until you send it, and nothing passes through us. If you click the Gmail or Outlook button, you are going to those companies' websites, and their own privacy terms apply once you are there.
Video players
Our Memory is a Game page embeds video players from Vimeo and YouTube so you can watch the reels without leaving the site. Those players are run by Vimeo and YouTube, not by us. When that page loads, those companies may set their own cookies and collect their own data about you, under their own privacy policies. We have no control over and no access to what they collect.
Selected Work case studies also offer Vimeo videos. Those pages begin with locally hosted preview images; the Vimeo player is not loaded until you choose a video. Score A Score uses ordinary outbound artist-page links and does not embed third-party players.
Hosting
The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Like any web host, Cloudflare handles the network request your browser makes in order to deliver the page to you, and it may keep its own operational records of that. That is Cloudflare's process, under Cloudflare's own privacy terms, not something we set up or receive.
Links to other sites
We link out to social profiles and other websites. Once you follow a link off this site, this policy no longer applies. Each site has its own.
Security
A few things we do on purpose:
- Your browser is told never to guess at file types, which blocks a common attack.
- The site is not permitted to request your camera, microphone, or location — the browser blocks it outright, sitewide.
- Background data connections are restricted to this site, our contact-form service and Umami. This restriction concerns background connections; it does not cover everything a page can load.
No website can promise perfect security, and we will not pretend otherwise.
Your choices
Analytics is optional. Open Analytics choices to allow it or turn it off. Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track keep it off even if you previously allowed it. Turning it off stops future collection; it does not erase records already sent. This privacy page never sends analytics.
You can browse without using our contact forms. If you have already sent us a message and want it deleted, email us and we will delete it.

Children
This site is aimed at business and professional visitors. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to this policy
We will update this page and its date before changing how we collect or use information.
